**Here are your homework tasks for the week. Seven – one for each day!****Remember to check the main page of the school’s blog, including the new Art-e facts challenge (see Art Gallery section) and our very own YouTube Channel!**

What do you need?

Can you sort out the four clues that help and the four clues that do not help in finding the number I am thinking of?

Four of the clues below are true but do nothing to help in finding the number.

Four of the clues are necessary for finding it.

Here are eight clues to use:

- The number is greater than 9.
- The number is not a multiple of 10.
- The number is a multiple of 7.
- The number is odd.
- The number is not a multiple of 11.
- The number is less than 200.
- Its ones digit is larger than its tens digit.
- Its tens digit is odd.

**What is the number? **

**What clues are necessary to finding the answer and why?**

Zayan π±βπ€Maths Tasks

The answer is 35 because

1. 35 is greater than 9

2. 35 is not in the multiple of 10

3. 35 is a multiple of 7

4. 35 is a odd number

5. 35 isn’t a multiple of 11

6. The number is less than 200.

7. Its ones digit is larger than its tens digit.

8. Its tens digit is odd.

AdibaI was thinking the same thing as zayan. I agree

amuhibPost authorCan you explain, using the clues, how you reached that answer.

AzrinI think the answer is 35

amuhibPost authorCan you explain, using the clues, how you reached that answer.

jiyaadI think that the number is 35 because I used a 100 number grid and I went through the clues to get 35

amuhibPost authorCan you explain, using the clues, how you reached that answer.

Tahmid kThe answer could be 117 because

117 is greater than 9

Not a multiple of 10

Is a multiple of 7

Is an odd number

Isn’t a multiple of 11

Is less than 200

It’s one digit is la larger than its tens

Its tens digit is odd

amuhibPost authorTahmid,

It needs to be a number from the 100 square grid.

Try again.

Halimah35 could be the answer.

This is because it is greater than 9, it’s not a multiple of ten , it is a multiple of 7, the number is odd, it is not a multiple of 11, it is less than 200, the ones digit is larger than the tens digit, the tens digit is odd. I know this because 35 is higher than nine, it cannot be a multiple of ten because multiples of ten end with a zero, it is a multiple of 7 because 7 times 5 is 35, the number is odd because the numbers 1,3,5,7,9 are odd and 5 is an odd number so 35 is odd,it is not a multiple of 11 because the me of 11 are 11, 22, 33, 44 (and so on) and 35 is not there, the ones digit is 5 and the tens digit is 3 so the ones digit is bigger, 3 is the tens digit and three is odd.

Mikail from Van GoghI believe the answer is 35

amuhibPost authorNeeds a explanation – why? Use the clues to help.

Azrin35 because it is a greater than 9.It is not a multiple of 10. But it is a multiple of 7. It is odd and not a multiple of 11. The ones digit is larger than the tens. The tens is odd.

UsmanπI do not understand

amuhibPost authorHi Usman,

Look at each of the clues and find the number which satisfies each clue. There are 8 clues in total but some are more relevant than others.
