We have been reading the story of Goldilocks. We made our own delicious porridge by adding some new ingredients. “The best porridge ever” said Umar. “I like the white chocolate” said Aila.
“It’s yummy” said Suleiman. “It’s good- me gusta!” said Yaqoob.
Now we will be writing about how we made our porridge and next week we are going to make a disgusting porridge instead!!
At Thomas Buxton we have been doing Helicopter Stories with the children. This is where a child tells a story and the adult scribes it word for word. The children then gather around a stage and the stories are then acted out. We are brilliant actors in Reception.
Here are a couple of our amazing stories
Ayra – France Class
Once upon a time there was a little girl called Matilda and a little girl called Sophie. It was time to go home. They played with their friends. All her friends were having a disco because it was Matilda’s birthday.
Yahyaa – Spain Class
Once upon a time there was a dragon. Then the bear was making some footprints. The dragon followed the footprints then the dragon saw the bear. He opened his mouth and breathed, then fire came out. Then a monster came, then the dragon went to the house and put the fire on. The house went down then the monster came inside the house and ate the dragon. Then that’s the end.
Ryhan – France Class
There was a tiger and a Spiderman. They was at their house and Hulk came. Then Spiderman and the mum came home and then the dad. Then the ghost. They went to the park. Then they had a picnic. Then they went home. Then they went shopping. Then they buy-ed some food. Then they went home again. Then they went to the park.
Ameera – Spain Class
Once upon a time there was a little girl called Little Riding Hood and she went to the woods to get to her Grandma’s house and her Grandma was being eaten by the big bad wolf and her Grandma said “don’t eat me!” and there was a prince to save the Grandma. LIttle Red Riding sawd her Grandma asleep in the bed. The End
Hope you enjoyed reading our stories as much as we love telling them.
This week in P4C Reception looked at lots of different pictures and had to decide if we liked them, disliked them and why. We were then using the word ‘because’ to explain why we thought that. Here are some of the pictures we looked at and some things that we said.
“I dislike blue bananas as they don’t like like a normal yellow one” said Huzaifa
“I like blue bananas because they are fun” said Ismael
“I like dogs because I can stroke them and that makes me happy” said Yaseen
“I dislike dogs because they have sharp teeth” said Zahara
Everyone agreed that we really like cars.
“I like this white car because it has pretty ribbons” said Ceylin
“I like this car because it can go really fast” said Tamzid
What do you think? Tell us if you like or dislike the pictures and why.
We are all very excited about our new interactive whiteboard in France class. We have been using it to practise our maths; we have been ordering numbers, finding doubles and counting.
It was Spanish Buzz Day today and so we made a special Spanish drink.
We had to say whether we liked it or not. We said ‘Me gusta’ or ‘No me gusta’
“Me gusta!” said Aiyla. “The juices are very good,” said Eliza.
In Spain class this week we have been learning the song “have you ever had a penguin come to tea?” It is now one of our favourite songs. We love doing the actions especially when we have to stick out our tongues and sing!
We wonder what it would be like if a penguin did ever come to school for tea?
